A Death In The Family

  1. Your J Parker storyline is getting whacky, disjointed, and a general waste of reading time. You seem to be missing a few dozen panels to explain why Abby is crying, where did the car door come from, etc. etc.... Go back and look at the last 10 days and see for yourself if it makes sense.

  2. I think readers are too impatient and need to relax and let the story play out. One strip does not equal one day, sometimes a year equals a week in Wilson's tenure as writer. Ces is new on the job so is setting up new stuff and tying off old stuff. it takes time to do it. Now the snarkers rip him. The same or worse was said about the stories Wilson wrote. I also think fans like to bitch about the strips no matter what. In a month we will be in a whole new JP reality. Then will they cry for the old days? Probably.

  3. For a while now, "Judge Parker" is the only strip I have been following lately. I've become sort of bored with "Rex Morgan" and "Mark Trail." I grew dissatisfied with "Apartment 3-G" as well once the art started to decrease in quality. At the same time, I think it is the quality of the art which keeps me interested, and Mike- your art is top notch. To be honest, I still miss the days of Harold Ledoux and Eduardo Barreto, but yours keeps the strip going for sure. Nothing lax like "A3G" was (granted Frank Bole is 90 or so) and the art on "Mary Worth" makes everyone look like Neanderthals.

As for the storylines- I'm staying tuned to see what happens. I have a lot of faith in the new writer and it's even better if you're allowed to have input on it, Mike. I'm probably one of the snarkers, but I'm glad I have an awesome strip to keep up with.

Keep up the great work, sir!

    Keep going!

  5. No improvement. Judge Parker continues to deteriorate. Seems like you dropped your strips in a pile of bizarre rubble and grabbed the first few at random to give to the publisher. What a mess!

  6. I think readers are too impatient. This strip moves at a slower pace, always has. The new writer is moving a lot of blocks to rejigger things and set up the new. Next month we will be in a different era. So many readers complained when Wilson was the writer, now with Ces you guys are the same. I think you just like to complain. Ces has been working only a short time, Wilson had 7 years worth of story lines. If you don't like the strip, stop reading and read something else. Come back in 6 months....or not.
