Great Pumpkins

This week's painting assignment, pumpkins. I'd still like to go back and
pick at this, but it's done for class at this point. I'll let it tak-up
and maybe hit it again.

Nice Mike best yet. Edges are better. Your done, tigher is not better. Can you consider a still life that uses a differn't background next time ?

Thanks Mike, and Bill. Bill, I have to paint all of these on a white background, that's per the instructions from Martenson. White background and then mixing with the limited palette, plus white. Each week it's a different color on top of the complimentary imprematura. I'd like something different as well, but I have only 2 exercises left. Next it's white onions on white. And it's good to contentrate on making the limited palette work without adding in the possibility of complicating the background, I know that's why martenson does this or people would be just losing control and trying to run a marathon before they could crawl.

Nice stems! You did a great job on all of the reflected light. What colors are in the limited palette that you are using here?

Mike, the palette is Quidnacrome Red, Ultramarine Blue and Cad yellow light are the colors we are using. I have to say, while it's tough at times, you can mix most colors from this basic set plus white.
