Last Figure Class

Last week was the last open figure class of the semester.
Echo and I attended and that was about it, everyone else bailed. Echo suggested trying washes, so we both did, you can see her's on her blog
These were all done direct without underdawing for the most part with a No.8 flat, except the last one I did, where I penciled in the rough figure first. I tossed in a drawing from a few weeks back as well.

On the last day of class a bunch of the students and I drove over to celebrate the end of the semester at the local sushhi spot, Tokyo Sushi.

All the little ducks have flown home for winter break, but they will return in January and we'll begin it all over again.

Lovely drawings, Mike. I took life-drawing classes when I was a teenager and would dearly love to do so nowadays.

It has been fun since discovering your blog to see your developing taste for sushi, by the way!

Have a great Christmas.

Love the ink wash studies, Mike!

That sushi looks damn good also...I've got to find some friends around here that I can draw and eat with! :)

I really like the third one from the top. The abrupt change from mid-to-highlight makes it look like she's standing in the sunlight.

Great drawings. I used to draw a lot when I was younger, but haven't been doing it much lately.

BTW, in case you're wondering who I am: I used to post as southParkJunkie. From now on I will use this screen name derived from a Black Sabbath song.

Oh my f'ing god!!!!!! I hate this comment thing!!! This is the forth time I'm doing this, and if it erases my comment one more time, I'll.....I'll.....i'll....

oh, who am I kidding. i'll turn off my computer and go to bed very angry.

I had a few nice comments about your last post, but I'm sick of retyping them. It's nearly 2am and I'm a little cranky. I'll send my email addy to your DCAD account (that is if it isn't part of my profile for this god-forsaken site!!). Wish me luck on sending this LAST COMMENT......

Oh, and have a very Merry Christmas and a Fabulous New Year.

My comments finally showed up in the column to the left! What a relief. I can go to bed happy now--all is right with the world.

love that sketch with the fellow sitting at the edge of the bench/drapped platform. Reminds me of Toth.
