Don...seems like an odd change for the syndicate to make. Usually the syndicate doesn't change it unless they feel it's controversial material or there was a mistake, like a misspelling.
Certainly it works either way. It's whether the "camera" was on Sam or on Derek.

Why is the last panel different in the version that is online and in the paper?
The online/newspaper version has Derek, not Sam in the last panel.

JB, It's probably an editorial change. Maybe he submitted it one way and syndicate changed it.

JB is right I switched it up, and this is how it should have been in the strip, but it works either way.
