Super Sad continues

I'm working on the first large Super sad painting this week, this is from the first two sets where I roughed in the figure from the live model. I'll keep updating this as I go along.

Hmmm...I think the first one really conveyed sad to me more than this one. It seems more like Super Looking For Something. But I'm sure you'll do 5 more of these small ones before you pick the final.

I have to say Mike something about this Composition does not flick the switch in my head. it may just be the way she is cropped at the legs combined with the negative space above her head. other that that, I do find strong appeal in the way that knee is painted, as well as the wrist/hand.

This will be a fully finalized painting at 18 x 24, and it's still cooking, I might add her face a bit, or not.

her placement on the canvas fits the golden rule and the rule of thirds Will. I cropped her on purpose to give her a weakened feeling and as the background is developed maybe it won't bother you as much.
